INGREDIENTS
- 2 boneless strip steaks (1/2-3/4" thick) -- well trimmed

1 green pepper cut into thin strips

1 red onion thinly sliced
-
salt and pepper to taste
-
3 garlic cloves minced
-
2 tablespoons butter
- olive oil enought to cover the bottom of the frying pan
-
1 can diced Italian tomatoes
-
1/2 cup dry wine or beef broth
- 1 tbls. oregano
- pinch hot red pepper
- 2 slices of mozzarella for top of steaks
DIRECTIONS

- Season steaks with salt and pepper.
- Put oil and butter in large heated skillet over medium high heat and sear steaks for three minutes on each side remove to heated plate.
- Lower heat and stir in minced garlic, peppers and onions cook until soft about two minutes
- Add wine or broth diced tomatoes and simmer for five minutes.
- Return steaks to pan, spoon some of the sauce over the steaks and put mozzarella on top, simmer until cheese is melted.
